Were those real people in cardboard costumes? It looks like it but the movements look fake

It looks animated to me. With some portions of it acted out with people. But that is kinda beside the point

This is the art forum. What art is is somebody's jumbled emotion regurgitated into some form. It's not meant to be understood. Just laughed at.

animated for sure, though very well done...and if it's regurgitated then shouldn't all art be in the vomitorium?

i have decided, after long deliberation that this song/video is about the two box people (representing children) trying to find innocence (the leaf), after trying to obtain this innocence for awhile they come across the ax in the stump (representing power), the larger box person struggles with what do with this new found power, remembering that they are chasing after the leaf, the larger box person decides that to have the leaf all to himself he must get rid of the smaller box person. Which he attempts to do. After chasing each other around they find an area with an abundance of leaves and realize that to find innocence they must rid themselves of the ax.
k bye

Candyman makes a valid point, but I have found major flaw in your philosophies. People =/= box people.

But later you refer to the "box child" as "the larger box person" and "the smaller box person". Please make up your mind.
